OKANOGAN – On Tuesday, June 23, kanogan County Public Health is reporting six people have tested positive for COVID-19 since their previous update last Friday. The new cases are from Brewster.
Richard Arnold Halsted, age 85, of Tonasket, died June 12th, 2020 in Wentachee, Washington. He was born August 11th, 1934 in Wilbur, Washington to parents Joe and Myrtle Halsted in his grandparents home (Philip and Carrie Carpenter). He was an only child.

Ben Bowman Hylton passed away peacefully at home on June 6, 2020, after an extended illness. He was born in Tonasket, Washington on June 15, 1936 to Ben E. and Ellen (Hawkins) Hylton.
OKANOGAN – Okanogan County Public Health reports eight new cases of COVID-19 in the county bringing the positive confirmed cases of the virus to 74.
OLYMPIA – The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR), in cooperation with partnering agencies, is implementing changes in burn restrictions on DNR-protected lands in parts Eastern Washington due to increased fire danger.
OKANOGAN – Okanogan County was approved today to move into Phase 2 of Gov. Jay Inslee’s ‘Safe Start plan toward reopening the county.
Kathleen Sue Range, age 66, of Tonasket, Washington, died May 28th, 2020 at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. Kathy was born in Tillamook, Oregon on November 2, 1953 to Robert and Patricia Krell.
In Loving Memory: William Albert Janczyk passed away gently on April 28, 2020 at Pinewood Terrace Care Center in Colville, Washington. The second of four children, William was born to Joseph and Dorothy (Chabot) Janczyk in Manchaug, Massachusetts on December 22, 1941.

Adaline Ruth Oakes, age 88, of Tonasket, Washington, died May 22, 2020 in Tonasket. She was born December 25, 1931 on the Michels Homestead upper Pine Creek, Riverside, Washington; to parents Allen and Marie (Michels) McCallum.
Alvin M. Manuel, age 67, of Oroville, Washington, passed away at his home on May 9, 2020. He was born on November 14, 1952 in Nespelem, Washington to his parents Irene and Angus Manuel. Alvin went to school in Oroville where he graduated. He then joined the Marines from May 12, 1972 until January 10, 1976. After his service, he became a cook for many restaurants in the Oroville/Chelan area. He was also an Eagle member.
