Tonasket boy advancing in Nashville Country Star competition

CONNELL – TJ Morgan, a senior at Tonasket High School, has advanced in this year’s Nashville Country Star competition to the semi-finals round, to be held in Connell on Saturday, March 26.

“This competition has helped me in many ways,” Morgan said. “It helped me to be able to be on stage with no fear and it helped my over-all self-confidence. I have enjoyed the past few years I have been in this competition and I am very grateful for all the help I have received from the helpers within the competition.”

Morgan, who plays to perform “Who’s Your Daddy” by Toby Keith in the semi-finals round, will compete in the finals round at the Omak Performing Arts Center on Saturday, April 2 if chosen as one of the Top 12.

“If I make it to the finals in Omak, I plan to sing ‘Who’s Your Daddy’ again as well as ‘What Do You Want’ by Jerrod Niemann,” Morgan said.

Morgan said he is making a demo CD currently which should be out shortly to help him pursue a career as a singer.

Despite the outcome of the competition, Morgan said he plans to stay involved with Nashville Country Star.

“I hope to still help after I’m done with everything and support other kids who have talents in music as I was supported by so many people,” he said.
