Sylvia Gay Brazle entered eternal life on Friday, Feb. 15, 2008 at home on the ranch.

Gay was born on March 3, 1935 in Midway, Arkansas to parents O.M. and Bess Miller. Gay grew up in Arkansas and graduated from Paris High School. She came to Oroville in the early 1950’s working at Palmer-Nelson Hardware. On Nov. 19, 1954 she married Dean Brazle in Oroville. Gay worked in the local apple warehouses and also, along with her husband, owned grocery stores in the Loomis and Oroville area. They welcomed son, Alvin, into their family in August of 1960. In 1973, they moved their family to the ranch in Havillah where they have made their home since.

Gay loved working on the ranch raising cattle and other farm animals as well as hay crops. She enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing and anything being outdoors. Anyone that met Gay knew how she loved to give them a bad time, yet she always enjoyed having the many friends and family come up for a visit and camp out on the farm. Gay was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Oroville.

She is survived by her husband, Dean Brazle, at home; daughter-in-law Elaine Brazle of Idaho; two grandchildren, Jake (Lisa) Brazle and Jamie (Jason) Brazle-Farrow; one great granddaughter, Madison Farrow and one more great grandchild on the way; sister, Ann Carper of Oroville and brother, O.G. Miller of Fairfield.

Gay was preceded in death by her son Alvin and her parents.
