Al Maden, age 67, of Tonasket, Washington, passed away on May 27, 2025, from a very aggressive cancer. He was born in June 1957 in South Bend, Washington, to parents Mary C. and Ellis Maden.
He spent most of his young life on the coast side of the Cascades. In his mid-teens, he moved to Tonasket with his family, attending a few of his high school days at Tonasket High School.
Al had a large variety of jobs throughout his adult life. From driving log truck, hay truck, apple truck, long haul trucking, cement truck driver, heavy equipment operator, Real Estate Agent, Apple Warehouse manager, mechanic, HVAC tech and several others. It is hard to list all his jobs. If he could drive it or run it he could probably fix it. He excelled at everything he chose to do.
Al enjoyed hunting, hiking, gold prospecting, fishing, skiing, snowmobiling and after retirement he found time for gardening. He was a Ham Radio operator, where he really enjoyed talking to people around the world. In that community, he will be known as a “Silent Key.” He loved life and enjoyed making people laugh. He will be missed terribly by his family and friends and people he hadn’t met yet.
In 1977, he married Terrie Sidwaski-Littlefield and they had almost 48 years together at the
time of his passing. They spent their entire married life in the Tonasket area.
He is survived by his wife, Terrie Maden of Tonasket; sisters, Mary Neal, Omak, Washington, Barbi Zuvich, Elma, Washington; brothers, Mark Maden, Libby, Montana, Arnie Maden, Riverside, Washington and a multitude of nephews and nieces, in-laws and outlaws. If you were special to him, you know who you are. Even if you didn’t think you were special to him, you probably were.
He was preceded in death by his parents and step-parents; brother, LaVal Maden and brother, Sonny and sister, Melvina, who died as infants.
Bergh Funeral Service is in charge of the particulars for Al and any services or memorials will be posted at a later date.
