OROVILLE – The City of Oroville has issued a reminder to all property owners/renters with sidewalks abutting their property in the Oroville City Limits.

According to Ordinance #570 all property owners with sidewalks abutting their property are responsible for keeping the sidewalks free of snow and ice. Failure to remove ice and snow causes extremely hazardous conditions for pedestrians and creates liabilities.

For those residents with garbage service they are asked to be sure to keep area around garbage cans or dumpsters free of ice and snow.

In extreme weather conditions, like the single digit weather being forecast, the city also suggests keeping a small stream of water running to prevent frozen pipes.
