TONASKET – In a unique blend of fashion and sales, Alice Simon has started her own sterling silver jewelry business in Tonasket as an independent Silpada Designs Representative.

Silpada Designs is a direct sales company, offering an exclusive collection of handcrafted .925 sterling silver jewelry and only the finest semi-precious and composite stones, said Simon. As an independent Silpada Designs Representative, Simon offers three services: beautiful jewelry to purchase, free products for party hostesses and business opportunities for those wishing to start their own business.

Silpada Designs was started in 1997 by its co-founders, Bonnie Kelly and Teresa Walsh. From a small group of saleswomen in Kansas, including Kelly and Walsh, Silpada Designs has now grown to more than 16,000 independent representatives across the country. By starting her own business, Simon has become an active Silpada Designs independent representative in the Tonasket, Oroville, Omak and Okanogan area.

The first things that attracted her to Silpada Designs were the beautiful designs, the quality of the jewelry and the unique approach of the business, she says.

“Selling Silpada jewelry doesn’t require any special skills. There are no formal presentations to memorize,” she said. “You just go to parties, display our unique, sterling silver jewelry, have fun and write up orders. It’s one of the easiest ways to have your own business.”

Simon will be holding a jewelry show at Hair Design, 9 W. Fourth St., Tonasket on Friday, Feb. 22. She says it will be open house-style with “no presentation to sit through.” People are welcome to stop by anytime between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

While individual orders can be placed, most sales are made through in-home parties. There are no formal presentations. It’s just a “Fun Ladies Night Out Playing Dress-Up With Jewelry.” The Silpada Designs catalog can be viewed online at www.silpada.com.
