Ruby Ruth Wiltz

Ruby Ruth Wiltz, 99, a life long resident of Washington passed away in Walla Walla, Wash. on Feb. 2, 2010.

Ruby was born in Molson, the fourth of 14 children. She grew up and attended school in Chesaw and Molson. In 1929 she married George H. Wiltz in Greenwood, Canada and farmed on a ranch two miles south of Chesaw. In 1944 the family moved to Chewelah, Wash. When irrigation started in the Columbia Basin the family moved to Moses Lake. When both she and George had retired they again established a residence back in Chesaw.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents: Richard C. and Orpha Mae Hirst; husband George; one son Don; eight brothers: Harold, Wilbur, Richard (Dick), George, Blair, Russel (Pat) and Charlie (Doug); three sisters: Pearl Mack, Goldie Sneve and Bonnie Shaw.

She is survived by a son, Nick of Kennewick; two brothers: Robert (Bob) of Oroville and Leonard (Ted) of Ephrata; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at the Chesaw Community Cemetery at 12 p.m. on April 17, 2010. A celebration of life will follow in the Chesaw Community Hall at 1 p.m. with a potluck reception to follow.

Memorials may be made in the name of Ruby Wiltz to the Knob Hill Home Economics Association or to an organization of your choice.
