Larry grew up in Okanogan and Conconully and graduated from Okanogan High School. During his early years, he worked on orchards, the family cattle ranch, in sawmills and for timber companies. Larry and his partner, Jerry (Zeke) Hilderbrand owned and operated the Pastime Tavern in Oroville for over 35 years. Although he worked hard, he could always find time to tell a joke and to make people feel welcome. He “always knew your name.”
