Lula M. Thornton Weaver, age 83 of Tonasket, died on Oct. 1, 2008 at her home in Tonasket.
She was born Sept. 4, 1925 in Wenatchee to parents Roy and Theo Thornton. Lu attended and graduated from Tonasket High School. She worked in the clerical business in banking and for the Okanogan County Auditor’s Office. On April 13, 1947, she married Jerry Weaver in Tonasket. At a young age, Lu chose to serve the Lord and was a member of undenominational body of Christians where she continued in fellowship with other Christians. She was a good mother and homemaker who enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
Lu is survived by her son Terry of Tonasket; her daughter Kristi Jo of Spokane; two sisters: Edith Thornton and Carol Thornton both of Tonasket; four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Weaver; three brothers: Neal, Dell and Floyd; and one sister, Ardis.
Services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Bergh Chapel in Oroville. Interment followed at the Tonasket Cemetery.
