Angelantonio “Tony” Grasso, age 57 of Vancouver, BC, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Vancouver General Hospital from complications of a liver transplant. He was born December 9, 1958 to parents Carmen and Italia Grasso.
Tony grew up in Vancouver before moving to Tonasket, Wash. Tony was a popular student, becoming the starting defensive end on the football team although he had never before played the game. After high school, Tony returned to Vancouver working store security for the Army/Navy and London Drugs stores, traveling throughout Canada and the United States, eventually working up to the security manager. Later, Tony started his own business, Mosaic Hardwood Floors, where his disarming personality, salesmanship and talent resulted in a successful business.
Tony was a very happy man, successful businessman, loved to travel and play guitar, which he taught himself. He was loved by many people and lived his life, his way, like Frank Sinatra’s song, “I Did It My Way.” Tony loved music. He also loved to play cards with his friends and loved singing Kenny Roger’s song, “The Gambler.”
Coming to Osoyoos was Tony’s favorite place to relax and enjoy the Labor Day weekend. This year Tony won’t be present, but he will be with us in spirit. He fought a hard battle and will be lovingly remembered by many.
Tony was preceded by his father, Carmen Grasso. He is survived by his loving mother, Italia Grasso (John), Osoyoos, BC; his twin sister, Rita Buhr from Lynden, Wash. and his younger brother, Johnny Grasso from Spokane, Wash.
A “Celebration of Life” will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at 5809 Oleander Drive, Osoyoos, BC. It will be an open house and any friend of Tony’s is cordially invited to attend. For more information contact igrasso.ca@gmail.com.
