“I was very pleased as many athletes improved on their heights, times and distances despite a very cold and windy day,” said Hornet Head Coach Harold Jensen. “We had some pleasant surprises with many of our athletes who didn’t place but showed tremendous improvement.

Currently in the District 5 2B Track and Field division Mills, Barker, Kelsey Hughes, Speiker and Mathews are all seeded in first place in their events and many more athletes are ranked in the top four places.

“Every week we must continue to improve in order to be ready for the state qualifier where four places will move onto the State meet in the girls’ division and three places in the boys’ division.’ Coach Jensen adds.

This upcoming Saturday the team travels to the Quincy Invitational.
