CRAhad zero to do with financial meltdown

Dear Editor,

            BillSlusher is back! I guess we can all look forward to another series of lettersin which everything wrong with America can be blamed on poor blacks, liberalsand previous Democratic presidents. If only it was that easy. Mr. Slusherquotes Ann Coulter (No doubt a real expert on Wall Street and macro economics!)in his letter entitled “Regulations subjugated in the name of politicscorrectness.” His central point seems to be that the financial melt-down wascaused by previous Democratic administrations demanding that bankers andmortgage companies loan money to unqualified customers.

So many differentways of being right

Dear Editor,

To Whom itmay concern: “Chrono-synclastic Infundibula-justimagine that your daddy is the smartest man who ever lived on earth and heknows everything there is to find out and he is exactly right about everythingand he can prove he is right about everything. Now imagine another little childon some nice world a million light years away and that little child’s Daddy isthe smartest man who ever lived on that nice world so far away. And he is justas smart and just as right as your Daddy is. Both Daddies are smart, and bothDaddies are right. Only if they ever met each other they would get into aterrible argument, because they wouldn’t agree on anything. Now, you can saythat your Daddy is right and the other little child’s daddy is wrong, but theUniverse is an awfully big place. There is room enough for an awful lot ofpeople to be right about things and still not agree.

Dear Editor,

RE:Three previous reader opinions – Christy Lindberg on June 5, Ryan Frazier onMay 22 and Bob Cunningham. I just wanted to thank all of these writers fortaking the time to express their opinions about Veranda Beach, tourism andtheir combined belief in wanting to see Oroville continue to prosper for futuregenerations. I have always made an effort to be part of the community I workand live in without thinking the only reason is to make the company I work forlook good. Making a positive difference for the community by growing a goodbusiness is part of what I do as part of the resort industry.
