Wallace “Wally” Turner Brown

Wallace “Wally” Turner Brown was born June 6, 1949 to Ellsworth and Betty J. Smith Brown in Tonasket. He passed away at home April 1, 2011.

Wally spent his entire life in the Tonasket area and graduated from Tonasket High School. Wally grew up on the family orchard and farm. He learned his lifetime love of hunting and fishing from his Mom and Dad and enjoyed those pastimes the rest of his life. He also loved reading western books. Wally and his nephew Moe Caddy spent many hours fishing and hunting deer and birds. Wally and his father took a trip to Alaska, which they both enjoyed. Wally never met a stranger and was willing to give a helping hand when needed. He was always curious as a child and took his toys apart to see how they worked. It must have been a sign of things to come as he was very mechanically inclined. Wally worked at City Center Service station for several years and then worked for J&J Logging for several years operating heavy equipment. He also worked for Roy Stoddard on his ranch.

Wally is survived by his sons: Sonny John of Wauconda, grandsons Frank and Body; Jake (Jeannie) of Galesburg, Ill., granddaughters Katelynn and Allissa; brother John (Susie) Brown of Tonasket; and two sisters Miriam (Dave) Caddy of Tonasket and Nancy (Bill) Keeton of Molson; nephews Moe (Julie) Caddy, Jim (Lalaina) Caddy, Billy Keeton, Corey (Tiffany) Keeton, Matt (Hailey) Jacobsen; nieces Mary (Ken) Weese, Joanie (Mike) Stenberg, Renee (Ted) Hilstad, Jenny (Tom) Cory and many great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Wally was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gary.
