BREWSTER – The Tonasket boys’ soccer team played a good game against Brewster but couldn’t find the win on Saturday, April 18.

The loss to Brewster came two days after a loss to Omak on Thursday, April 16, when the Tigers lost 3-0.

“We didn’t play very well against Omak,” Chris Field, head coach, said. “It’s one of those games you’d like to have back. The defense let down a little bit and we didn’t capitalize on opportunities. It was just one of those games were it went their way and not ours.”

Although the Tigers lost 7-0 against Brewster, Field said he thought it was one of their best games so far this season.

“Passing was great, we had our shots and broke through Brewster’s defense but we just couldn’t get the ball in the net,” he added.

As of press time, the Tigers hadn’t yet played against Cashmere at home on Tuesday, April 21, but Field said he thought the team could play competitively as long as they play like they did against Brewster. On Saturday, April 25, the team plays away against Cascade.

“We’ve already played Cascade once but I thought we played very flat against them,” Field said. “We can compete with them but we have to play smart.”
