OROVILLE – They’re waiting for their shop to be finished, but River’s Edge Embroidery and Heat Transfers can still fill your orders for custom designed shirts, hats, jackets and much more.

River’s Edge Embroidery is a new business with a past… it used to be known as Ethels LLC, but Jennifer Finsen bought the business and has relocated out by her home on Eastside Oroville Road. The store is still in the process of being built, but is able to take orders and do business.

“We are still offering the Oroville Hornet designs and we also have a selection of Tonasket Tiger designs,” said Finsen. “There are so many great designs to choose from in the embroidery and transfer catalogs that we are able to create something that’s just right for you.”

In addition to the school spirit items for the Hornets and Tigers, River’s Edge can also put company or club logos on a variety of apparel items. They can do scans and make heat transfers, as well as have logos digitized for embroidery on various items.

Finsen, who works with her sister and “number one embroiderer” Carrie Buckmiller, said they’ve put embroidery on things as large as horse blankets in the past. They have even done quilt squares.

“We’ve done Carhartt coats, aprons, bags, T-shirts, hoodies… we have a huge catalog of designs to chose from that can be embroidered using our machine. We can add whatever text you want below the design,” said Buckmiller.

Finsen said her new shop next to the house will be really convenient for her and her daughters Emily and Olivia. Her husband Joe, who operates OK Construction, is doing the work to expand the existing workshop so they have a place to take customer’s orders and to display some of their goods.

“I would like to thank the community and the school for all the support they gave us in the past when we were at Ethyls,” said Finsen. “We’ve worked with the May Festival, Centennial, Masons and the Golf Club in the past. We’ve also done work for many of the businesses in Oroville and we have done newborn offices for North Valley Hospital.”

Many of the souvenirs that were at Ethyls were purchased by Appleway Video, Gifts and Gallery they have them for sale, said Finsen.

To place an order or to find out more information call (509) 476-2172. The business is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. When completed, the shop will be at 79 Eastside Oroville Road. To get there head south from Oroville, cross the bridge and take the first left where the railroad tracks cross the highway and drive south watching for their new sign at the driveway to the shop.
