NVH warrants down to almost $2.6 million

TONASKET – With the North Valley Hospital District making payments of nearly $30,000 a week, the warrants had lowered to $2,610,000 by Friday, Nov. 19.

“If we can keep doing our weekly payment, we’ll have the warrants down to $2.43 million by the end of December and our target warrant amount for the end of the year is $2.5 million,” Bomi Bharucha, chief financial officer, said.

Bharucha said the district was on track to make their weekly payments on the warrants despite being down about $68,000 in revenue for the month of October. Also, even though October was a lower revenue month, the district has still been bringing in between $350,000 and $375,000 a month, he said.

At the board’s special meeting on Thursday, Nov. 18, they passed a resolution to release WLK from their retainage bond and approved equipment requests for the CPSI down payment for $17,100, Google e-mail service for $8,300 and approved the purchase of a water softener for the existing water system.

The CPSI down payment is for the hospital district’s server system which is to keep the district in compliance with federal regulations. The server for this system was set to go live in the district on Monday, Nov. 22 as of press time.

The Google e-mail service package is costing the district $83 per user per year and includes more than just e-mail, such as an organization system and Web site management.

The board also approved the hiring of the Spokane-based certified public accountants firm of Dingus, Zarecor and Associates as their new cost report preparers/financial consultants.

The next regular hospital board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. in the district’s board room.
