Christina Kiesecker

Christina Kiesecker, 56, of Pateros was born on Sept. 29, 1954 in Tonasket, to Richard and Grace Margret Kiesecker. Her family moved throughout Eastern Washington before her parents settled at Spectacle Lake, where her father ran a dairy and orchard. For 15 years she lived with her family at Spectacle Lake, where she acquired some of her fondest memories that she frequently recalled throughout her life. She received her education within the Tonasket School District.

Christina then moved from home and began her working career in the fruit industry at Chief Tonasket. She would enjoy her career in the fruit industry for nearly 30 years throughout Okanogan County. In her early adulthood she enjoyed riding horses and working with the cattle on her parent’s ranch in Wauconda. Riding horses and encountering nature were among her favorite hobbies.

Christina married Lindsey Bails of Omak, in the spring of 1982. They later divorced in 1986.

Later that year, she married Brian Oborne of Okanogan and on Sept. 4, 1986 she gave birth to her first born son, Michael Brian Oborne. Christina and Brian moved their home south of Okanogan. On Feb. 4, 1989 she gave birth to her second son, Shawn Richard Oborne. Their marriage ended in 1990, Christina then moved her family back into Okanogan where they resided until 1994. They briefly lived in Ridgecrest, Calif., before moving back to Washington and settling in Mansfield. While living in Mansfield, Christina worked at Beebe Fruit Company near Chelan. To make her commute to work easier she moved herself and her boys to Pateros, on March 15, 1999. After a couple years in Pateros she found a job at Magi Fruit Company in Pateros. She worked there until the summer of 2009. After nearly 30 years of working in the fruit industry, she decided to take an opportunity to work for Pateros Motor Inn. On the early evening of Feb. 11, 2011 Christina passed away at her home in Pateros.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Grace Margret Kiesecker; and her sister, Linda Kiesecker.

She is survived by her two children: Michael Oborne of Ellensburg and Shawn Oborne of Seattle; also by her four siblings: her brothers: John Kiesecker of Wauconda and David Kiesecker of Loomis; her sisters: Karen Kinney of Wauconda and Peggy Anne Hildebrandt of Bentonville, Ark.; also by several nieces and nephews.

Christina took pride in everything she did, from arts and crafts to keeping her home tidy and organized. She took enormous pride in her abilities and accomplishments at work. Anything to do with the ‘old west’ sparked her interest. Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley were among her favorite music artists. She had an immeasurable passion for arts and crafts, she would spend most of her free time working on her projects and talking with family and friends. Overall she was exceptionally proud of who she was, where she came from, and most of all she was immensely proud of her sons.
