TONASKET – Several Tonasket boys’ soccer players were presented with Caribou Trail All-League Awards and varsity letters during the team’s banquet on Monday, May 24.

“In three years, this is the first team to really form a union,” Chris Field, head coach said. “A lot of people will look at our record and think we didn’t have a successful season, but when you play big teams like Brewster, Cascade, Cashmere and Chelan and you improve in the second game against them, it’s a successful season.”

Receiving first team defense CTL awards were Adrian Ramos and Felipe Gaytan, first team midfield was Jesus Alvarez and first team forward was Derek Tucker. Tyler Farley received a second team midfield award and Lazaro Ortega received an honorable mention as goalie.

Receiving first year letters were Brayson Hires, Wyatt O’Brien, Zach Villava, Joel Cosino, Jesus Alvarez, Oscar Avilez, Irving Morales, Jon Pantaleon, Derek Tucker, Salvador Medina and Felipe Gaytan.

Receiving second year letters were Lazaro Ortega, Tyler Farley, Adrian Ramos, Matt Gshiel and Enrique Ortega.

Finally, Nick Luera and Pedro Suazo received participant awards as they didn’t have enough playing time for a letter.
