20 THS tennis players earned varsity letters

LOOMIS – Twenty Tonasket High School tennis players were given their varsity letters during the team’s banquet at the Wahl house on Tuesday, June 8.

For the boys’ team, Karl Bharucha, Brett Hendrick, Lee Leavell and Damon Sprague all received third year varsity letters while Aaron Bharucha, Russell Perry and Anthony Verhasselt received second year varsity letters and Keegan McCormick, Jared Stedtfeld and Dalton Wahl all received first year varsity letters.

For the girls’ team, Flor Maldonado, Cayla Monroe and Michelle Timmerman each received second year varsity letters while Stefanie Brunell, Kelly Cruz, Alicia Edwards, Grace Maldonado, Michaela Newton, Claire Thornton and Brenda Ramos all received first year varsity letters.

Special awards were all given out during the team’s banquet. Hendrick received the Most Valuable Player award for both the THS team as well as the Caribou Trail League, Leavell received the Coaches Award, Timmerman received the Most Valuable Player award for the THS team, Monroe received the Most Inspirational award and Stedtfeld and Ramos both received the Most Improved awards.
