New Oroville School staff introduce themselves

New staff at Oroville Elementary and Junior/Senior High Schools wrote up small bios to introduce themselves to the community. Below are their photos and some details about their lives:

Cyley Wytko

My name is Cyley Wytko and I graduated from WSU-Pullman in Spring 2013, Go Cougs! My family lives in Moses Lake and I have just recently moved up to Oroville. I’ll be getting married to Gerad Moser in the late fall and am so excited! I’ve worked with kids my whole life from teaching gymnastics, swim lessons, and coaching cheerleading. You are most likely to find me with my nose in a book or working on my computer toward the completion of my masters. I am honored to be part of the Oroville School district and look forward to the years to come!

Whitney Massart

I grew up in the Oroville/Tonasket area and earned my BA in teaching at Eastern Washington University. I recently moved back to the area a little over a year ago with my husband. I enjoy all sports and anything that has to do with the outdoors!

Kelsey Smith

My name is Kelsey Smith and I am the new second grade teacher at Oroville Elementary School. I was born and raised in Oroville and am so excited to be teaching here. I graduated from Eastern Washington University in 2012 and completed my student teaching in second grade at Oroville Elementary School. I’m excited to be a part of the Oroville Elementary team!

Ila Hall

Hi! My name is Mrs. Ila Hall. I was born in Kirkland Wash. At the age of ten I moved to the Okanogan Valley. I attended grade school in Omak and Tonasket. I went to Junior High and High school in Oroville. I graduated third in my class in 1982. I moved to the coast and had three beautiful sons. They are grown now and I have five grandchildren. Each summer I have spent quality time with my dad and siblings in Oroville. This year my husband and I decided to move back to Oroville to give back to the community where I was raised.

I am an advocate for life long learning. I have a Bachelors in Social Service with a minor in management, Bachelors in Religions, Masters in Business, and a Masters in Elementary Education. I am also a nurse and CPR and First Aid Instructor.

In my spare time I love to fish, hike, and garden. We just bought several acres and plan to make a garden of flowers and edibles to enjoy.

DJ Rounds

DJ Rounds has been a Parapro in the Oroville School District since 2008. During this time she has been working diligently on her Bachelors Degree in elementary education while working and raising her family. The culminating event before receiving her degree is to be a student teacher, which she will be doing in both Mrs. King and Mr. Ragsdale’s fifth grade classrooms this Fall. She is super excited for this school year and is looking forward to working with each of her students and her cooperating teachers.

Shelly Martin

I live in Oroville with my family. I have a Masters degree in elementary education from Western Governors University and a Bachelors degree from Washington State University. I’ve worked as a substitute for the district for the past several years. I am excited to be teaching fourth grade this year as well as writing for both fourth and fifth grade. I am enjoying coaching cheerleading at the high school this year and have spent many years coaching youth basketball and softball. I’m very excited for this school year.

Jessica Budzak

I was adopted at a young age and grew up in Puyallup, Washington with my parents, a younger brother, and an older sister. After graduating from Puyallup High School I decided to pursue my interest in Interior Design but after two years I knew my true passion was in education working with children. I taught sixth grade during my student teaching experience in Spokane. I just graduated from Washington State University (Go Cougs!) and this will be my first official year teaching! I am so happy to be teaching Kindergarten at Oroville Elementary!

Carla Kerns

I grew up in Riverside Washington, went to Heritage University. After graduating I moved to Alaska where I taught for 4 years in a small bush village called New Stuyahok. Upon having my first child I moved back home, married my now husband and took a couple of years off to stay at home with my daughter. I was a substitute teacher for two years at the Tonasket and Oroville School Districts and had my second child before jumping at the opportunity to work as a High School English teacher here in Oroville.

Daphne Booker

Daphne Booker, long time Oroville resident, enjoys spending time with family, hunting, camping, and playing golf. She and her husband, Ed, are kept very busy with their five children; Ashley (21), Austin (19), Kane (7), Brody (5) and Emmit (four months). Daphne has over ten years experience in accounting and office management and is excited about her new endeavor as a secretary at the high scho
