Marjorie Jackson

Marjorie Jackson – Our beautiful mother, grandmother, wife, sister and aunt went home peacefully to be with her Savior on September 9, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Marjorie was born on April 18, 1937 in Vancouver B.C. , the youngest of four children to William and Dorothy McKibbin.

She married Franklin Jackson on September 24, 1960 in Osoyoos, BC. They moved to Mansfield, Wash. and in 1964 they returned to the area, making Oroville their family home where they raised their four children.

Marjorie had fond memories of her childhood in Vancouver, B.C. and Little Flowers Academy. After the death of her father, she moved with her family to Osoyoos, B.C. in the early 50‘s, where her mother and stepfather George Beales owned and operated a motel near Lake Osoyoos. While living in Osoyoos, she met her dear friend, Jo Lippa Mathews, who continued to be a dear friend to Marjorie and her family through the years.

Marjorie held several jobs throughout her life culminating with the Oroville School District, where she was honored with several awards. Marjorie loved God, her faith and was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Parish. She enjoyed camping, fishing, swimming, gardening, reading, knitting and puzzles. Later in life she was blessed with grandchildren and made them her top priority.

For every person she made contact with, she will be deeply missed because of the compassion and unconditional love she emitted.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, sister Colleen James, brother Bob McKibbin, brother-in-laws James and Roy Jackson, Jim Larson, Herm Loether and Fred King and nephew Brian Kresek. She is survived by her husband, Frank, Oroville; daughter Renae (Larry) Henning, Selah, Wash.; Erin (Franz) Griffin and Maura Jackson, Spokane, Wash.; son Darcy Jackson, Oroville; five grandchildren, brother Bill McKibbin, Vancouver B.C., sister-in-law Doreen McKibbin, Holden, Alberta, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and her beloved cats, Frisky and Cinnamon.
