Lloyd Leon Pitt

Lloyd Pitt, 83, of Tonasket, passed quietly in his home Dec. 12, 2011. He was born to Alvin and Mabel (Greenfeather) Pitt of Clearwater, Okla., on April 16, 1929.

Lloyd and his family moved to the Chelan area in 1942. Lloyd had the honor of joining the Army, made his way as corporal and was one of the best at pole climbing and sharpshooting from 1946-1949. He married in 1952 to the love of his life, Alice Caddy of Chelan. They relocated to Tonasket in 1960 to raise their family. Lloyd and Alice owned and ran an orchard on Highway 7 from 1960-1993. His love for the outdoors was evident in the time he spent working in his yard, riding his Harley, skiing, hunting, camping, and of course watching sports. He was very proud of his Shawnee heritage.

Lloyd is survived by wife of 59 years, Alice Pitt of Tonasket; sons Lloyd Pitt (Buff) and Suzie of Tonasket and Michael Pitt and Star of Cashmere; beloved granddaughter Tahya Pitt of Cashmere; special nephews Rick Caddy of Tonasket and John Drakes Pitt of Yakima; brothers Ronny Pitt (Joe) of Yakima, Gene Pitt of Kirkland and Albert Pitt of Tonasket; sisters Lilian Beeson (Tooter) of Broken Arrow, Okla., Joyce Estes (Jodie) of Chelan and Liat Williams (Lee) of Hayden, Idaho; in-laws Dave and Miriam Caddy of Tonasket, Jack and Rayetta of Tonasket and Jim and Cathy Caddy of Cave Creek Ariz. and many more nieces and nephews who loved him.

Lloyd is once again united with sisters Cathy Bell, Betty Lou DonnaHou and Lulla Mae Marshall and brothers Hook Pitt and Norman Pitt.

Anyone who met Lloyd knew he was generous, kind, and opened his heart and home to others. He cherished his family more than anyone. There will be no funeral or service held for Lloyd per his request. We will be celebrating his life journey at our upcoming family reunion.
