OROVILLE – America and Luis Perez have reopened the Hornet’s Nest Restaurant on Main Street in Oroville.

The restaurant plans to offer hamburgers, milkshakes, tacos, kids meals, fries, fingerfood and more, all at reasonable prices.

They say in the future they see themselves serving breakfasts, as well as adding Mexican food to the menu.

Located close to the high school and having school-age kids of their own, the couple who have lived in Oroville for the past 14 years, felt that they’d like to have a good place for kids to come and eat.

“We feel we can offer friendly service,” said America Perez. “We’re just excited to serve our community.”

In addition to the restaurant, the Perez have operated Community Auto for about four years. They have two children – Fernanda who is 15-years-old and Andrea who is 13-years-old.

“We are grateful to community for their help… for the businesses and crew who helped us get everything done like Mike Smith and Jim Barker,” they said.
