Local food banks

OROVILLE – The Oroville food bank operates every Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., excluding holidays, in the basement of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. For more information, call Jeff Austin at 476-3978 or Jessica Lakey at 476-3817.

TONASKET – The Tonasket food bank operates every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 300 S. Whitcomb Ave. Drop-offs can be made at Tonasket Tavern. For more information, call Jack Gavin at 486-2480 or Debby Curren at 486-2459.

Open Meeting

MOLSON – Molson Grange will be having an open meeting on Thursday, Feb. 28. Potluck will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the guest speaker will be leaders and boys from our local Boy Scouts. Come join in for an evening of food and fun and learn more about our local scouts.

“55 Alive” Course

OROVILLE – A “55 Alive” safe driving course is being offered at the Oroville Senior Center on Friday, Feb. 22 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. A fee of $10 is required for materials. Register with Pat at the Senior Center on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays. Call (509) 476-3336 for more information.

Live Auction

TWISP – The Methow Valley Horseman’s Association will be holding a consignment auction on April 26 to raise funds in support of the rodeos. The auction will be held at the Winthrop Rodeo Grounds, beginning at 10 a.m. through the last bid. Book Fest

TONASKET – Tonasket Elementary School is having a Book Fest Extravaganza Feb. 25 through Feb. 29 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. daily on the grade school stage. Bring gently used books (no comics, textbooks or religious books) to the Elementary School the last week of February. Clean out your closets for the kids!

Youth Soccer Registration

CPR/AED Class

OKANOGAN – The North Cascades Chapter of the American Red Cross will be holding CPR and AED classes for the Professional Rescuer (healthcare) on Thursday, Feb. 28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Contact Barbara at (509) 422-3440 for more information.

Belly Dance into spring

OROVILLE – Shake off winter and fling yourself into spring! Join other women in the joy of dance. New sessions will begin on Thursday, March 6 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. behind the Oroville Episcopal Trinity Church on Fir and Central. Swing Dance Class

TONASKET – Beginning Country Swing Dance classes will begin March 5 at the Community Cultural Center. Participants must have a partner; fee is $25 per couple. WA Pilots Association meeting

OKANOGAN – The Okanogan/Ferry County Washington Pilots Association will meet on Thursday, Feb. 21 at Sun Valley Lounge in Okanogan. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. with dinner. Come anytime after 6 p.m. and you can sign up for the FAA Safety Wings program. Anyone with an interest in aviation is welcome to attend. Junior Baseball

TONASKET – Registration for Tonasket Junior Baseball, ages 12 and under, will be March 8 at the Tonasket High School Commons from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. You can also obtain a registration form from the Tonasket Middle School or by calling Tom Cory at (509) 486-1646. Coaches and board members are needed as well.

Pancake Feed

MOLSON – Molson Grange is holding their annual Pancake Feed on Sunday, Feb. 24 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Grange Hall in Molson.

OROVILLE – NVCS is offering March classes on: Back Yard Pest Control, Beginning Dowsing and Divining, GPS 101, Wine Grape Growing and Vaudeville-Alive and Well.
