Cashmere wound up in second place, followed by Chelan in third with 57 team points, Omak in fourth with 87 points and Cascade in fifth with 101 team points.

In cross country scoring, the team with the lowest points wins, with individual first place finishes counted as one point, second place counted as two points and so on.

“Jacob Longmyer ran a very good race and Tyler Monroe is getting stronger every race,” said Tonasket Tiger Coach Bob Thornton after the CTL Championships. “Everyone is looking good for the regional meet this Thursday at Chewelah where the top four teams and top 20 individuals qualify for state.”

Although the 2B Oroville Hornets competed in the CTL Championships, it was more for practice, as they are in a different league. The Hornet’s top runner at the meet was Francisco Curiel. Hornet Coach Doug Kee expects good things from Curiel and Alexis Olmsted in the regional meet to be held in Cheney on Friday. This match up will pit B and 2B teams from Eastern Washington. The top two teams and top 10 individuals will then earn the right to participate at state at Chewelah the following week.
