Beatrice Stetz, 95, of Oroville, formerly of Brier, Wash. passed away Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010 with two of her daughters, Frances and Viola, by her side.
She was born in Kingston, Penn. on Oct. 27, 1914, a daughter of the late Valeria Schmidt and Pete Konopko. Beatrice was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, baking, gardening, sewing and taking care of her family. She enjoyed showing her grandchildren how to cook, make pies and most important of all, how to enjoy life. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Beatrice is survived by her daughters: Genevieve Conn of Morgantown, W. Va., Frances Stetz and Viola Down and husband Bill of Oroville and Josephine Mapes of Marysville, Wash.; One sister, Helen Dorsey; And two brothers: John and Leo, all of Rivesville, W. Va.; Her “adopted daughter,” Phoebia Dickinson of Chesapeake, Va.; And the family pet, Kindel. Beatrice had 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Louis Stetz, Sr.; A son, Louis Stetz, Jr.; A daughter, Agnes; Four brothers: Chester, Ralph, Henry and Edward; And one sister, Wanda Husty.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010 2 p.m. at Holyrood Cemetery, 205 NE 205th St., Shoreline, Wash. with Reverend Father Lyle Konen, presiding.
