Muralist Andy Eccleshall of the Mural Works, Inc. used his talents to create this vision of a Great Gray Owl in flight on the Iron Grill Restuarant. The painting is based on a photograph that Paul Bannick, author of Owl: A Year in the Lives of North American Owls took. This is the second nature-based mural that the Okanogan Highlands Alliance has brought to Tonasket.

Drifted snow piled up on the sidewalks on the east side of downtown in Oroville last Sunday. Despite the sun shining, the temperatures were in single digits during the day, dropping to much lower at night. With the added wind chill factor the temps felt well below freezing. The National Weather Service is warning of "dangerously cold temperatures" in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho this week.
