RIVERSIDE – A woman found shot in Riverside later died of her wounds after being transported to Mid-Valley Hospital on Monday, July 17.
At around 8:30 p.m. Okanogan County Sheriff’s Deputies Terry Shrable and Tim Newton and a unit from the State Patrol responded to a call from Armitage Hill Road near Riverside in reference to a female gunshot victim, according to Sheriff Frank Rogers. The deputies and state trooper arrived at the scene and found a female who had been shot in the master bedroom and two male subjects in the residence. The woman was transported to Mid-Valley Hospital, but later died of her wounds.
“While processing the scene Deputies discovered a small amount of marijuana, growing marijuana and over a kilo of cocaine and approximately $12,000 in cash,” said Rogers. “The two male subjects who were still at the scene were arrested and transported to the Okanogan County Jail.”
Arrested at the scene were Walter A. Buechner, 59 and William P. Martin III, 39, both of Riverside. Buechner was booked on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm,  possession of a controlled substance – cocaine, manufacture a controlled substance – marijuana and possession of marijuana less than 40 grams. Martin was booked on possession of a controlled substance – cocaine, manufacture a controlled substance – marijuana and possession marijuana less than 40 grams.
 ”We’ve had an autopsy done, but we are still waiting for some more tests. At this time the detectives are still working on the shooting investigation,” Sheriff Rogers said.
