OROVILLE – Over 300 dinners were served during a benefit dinner for Oroville Police Officer Chris Patterson, who hit a cow with his patrol car on Wednesday, June 24.
Rachel Rawley said that, with tickets for the dinner, donations and the proceeds from the auction after the dinner, over $8,000 was raised for Patterson. Two large donations on Friday came from Free Methodist Church, which donated $1,000 and the Oroville Golf Club, which donated $500 plus gift donations for the auction. Rod Noel, Oroville superintendent, said the food was all donated by Prince’s, Hometown Pizza, Frontier Foods and Yo Yo’s and that it all was eaten. “We had to make a couple of trips to the store,” he added.
