TONASKET – Briana Moralez drained a 3-pointer to break a tie with 40 seconds remaining and the Oroville girls basketball team held on for a 35-33 victory at rival Tonasket on Friday, Dec. 8.

The Hornets led 21-16 at the half but struggled to score until Tonasket’s Kathryn Cleman gave the Tigers a 28-26 lead with 5:14 remaining.

Devan Utt hit 1-of-2 free throws with 53 seconds left to tie the game at 31 before Moralez hit the tie-breaking shot.

The Hornets’ Lily Hilderbrand led all scorers with 19 points while Utt and Amanda Johnson led Tonasket with nine each.
