OROVILLE – The Oroville Chamber of Commerce elected a full slate of officers for the upcoming year at their Thursday, Dec. 13 meeting and chose Rich Solberg to head the business organization in 2008.
Solberg, a local real estate agent with Windermere Realty, will be joined by Kally Berlinger as vice president; Donna Lepley as recording secretary and Laura Daubert as corresponding secretary. Vicki Hart returns as the chamber’s treasurer. The board members for next year include past president Ardi Fitzthum, Jim Bankson, Linda Darrow, Gary DeVon, Ed Lawrence and Roger McClendon. Joan Cool will serve as advisor to the board. Bankson, with Veranda Beach Resort and Darrow with Linda’s Bakery, are newcomers to the chamber of commerce board.
The nominating committee of Solberg, DeVon and McClendon asked for those interested in serving in the various positions to put their name forward. In positions where no one came forward the committee actively sought candidates. In addition, before the ballots were cast the nominations were thrown out to the general membership for additional interested candidates.
The Oroville Chamber of Commerce meets the second Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. at Yo Yo’s Restaurant. The board meets each third Thursday at various locations around town. Oroville Chamber dues are $75 a year for a business and $25 for an individual. Businesses paying before Dec. 31, 2007 can do so at a discounted rate of $50.
