Omak School Superintendent dies in accident

PATEROS – Omak School Superintendent Dr. Arthur H. Himmler, 68, died when his car left the road, rolled and he was ejected from this pickup truck.

Dr. Himmler was on his way to a conference for school administrators from throughout the region.

According to the Washington State Patrol Dr. Himmler was driving his 2008 Ford Pickup southbound, about two miles south of Pateros. He attempted to pass in the northbound lane, lost control and the vehicle rolled and came to a rest on its top.

In his report, WSP Trooper M. Goodall lists the cause of the accident as “speed too fast for conditions.”
