TONASKET – Everyone saw plenty of action for the Tonasket boys basketball team on Tuesday, Dec. 20, as the Tigers built a huge early lead and cruised to a 75-37 victory over Bridgeport.

Four Tigers scored in double figures as the Tigers led 23-5 after one quarter and 44-10 at the half.

“We got lots of playing time for everyone tonight,” said Tonasket coach Glenn Braman. “It was a total team effort. Everyone contributed to the victory in some way.”

John Stedtfeld scored 13 points and led the team with nine rebounds, and Michael Orozco’s explosive first step was more than Bridgeport could handle as he scored 10 points, dished out five assists and had four steals.

“John has really taken to heart the need for him to become a better defender,” Braman said, “as well as a rebounder. Michael is really starting to show what he is capable of.”

Trevor Terris led the Tigers in scoring with 14 points, with Dyllan Gage adding 11 and Damon Halvorsen scoring nine.

The Tigers (5-2) next play Dec. 29 and 30 at the Brewster Holiday Tournament. Tonasket plays Brewster in Thursday’s opening round.
