OROVILLE – There’s a new option coming to town for prospective homebuilders.

Jackson Fry, a contractor from Shelton, Wash., with more than 30 years of experience, will be building and remodeling in the Oroville area.

“I’ve heard the market is pretty hot over there,” Fry said. “I’ve also heard that the Canadian market is awfully promising.”

Fry specializes in starter homes and tract houses and will be building those in the area, if the market takes. He plans to move here full-time if there is work available.

The market on the west side is slow, Fry said.

“That, and I’m sick of the city,” he said. He made his first trip to Oroville last week and said he liked the area.

“I’d like to move. I’m looking forward to it,” he said. “It’s too far to drive to work” from Shelton,he said.

As a contractor, he has followed the market across Washington State, he said.

He owns Madeline Construction. He has been self-employed since 1980, beginning in Portland.
