A small grass fire was quickly extinguished by the Tonasket Fire Department next to Bonaparte Creek on Mill Drive in Tonasket Saturday, Aug. 22, around 10 a.m. According to Fire Chief Andy Gasho, a 10′ x 10′ spot was burned. “It looks like someone was hanging out at Bonaparte Creek,” said fire fighter Isaac Kresek. The matter is under investigation. Tonasket city police were on scene along with an ambulance from the Tonasket Emergency Medical Services, although no one was transported from the site.
