Superior Court

Criminal

  • William Joseph Bessette, 32, Omak, was found guilty at a jury trial May 29 to hit-and-run (fatality accident). He pleaded guilty July 29 to reckless driving (amended from vehicular homicide). Bessette was sentenced July 29 to 26.75 months (2.23 years) in prison and fined $13,748.50 for the Sept. 6, 2009 crimes. The fine includes $12,888 in reimbursements to Okanogan County for expert witness fees.
  • Cherryl Ann Grant, 61, Omak, was found guilty at a jury trial July 24 on three counts of distribution of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and one count each of POCS (methamphetamine) (with intent to deliver) and unlawful use of a building for drug purposes. Grant was sentenced July 28 to 50 months (4.17 years) in prison and fined $690. The crimes occurred between July and August of 2014.
  • David Glenn Ferrell, 33, Okanogan, pleaded guilty July 28 to POCS (heroin) (with intent to deliver). The court dismissed additional charges of POCS (methamphetamine) (with intent to deliver) and use or delivery of drug paraphernalia. Ferrell was sentenced to 12+ months in prison and fined $1,210.50 for the Aug. 15, 2014 crime.
  • Augustina L. Flores-Purser, 24, Bridgeport, pleaded guilty July 28 to second-degree TMVWOP and third-degree DWLS. Flores-Purser was sentenced to 16 months in prison and fined $1,110.50. The crimes occurred May 17 in Okanogan.
  • The court issued a criminal summons July 30 for Jennifer Lee Cooper, 37, with addresses in Okanogan and The Dalles, Ore., with second-degree possession of stolen property. The crime allegedly occurred Nov. 11, 2014.
  • The court found probable cause to charge Sean Alexander Iukes, 21, Okanogan, with second-degree assault (with a deadly weapon) and fourth-degree assault. The crimes allegedly occurred July 20.
  • The court found probable cause to charge Malynda Deanna Fry, 28, Omak, with second-degree possession of stolen property, hit-and-run (attended vehicle) and hit-and-run (property damage). The crimes allegedly occurred June 24.
  • The court found probable cause to charge Casey James Brender, 26, Tonasket, with POCS (methamphetamine), POCS (oxycodone) and use of drug paraphernalia. The crimes allegedly occurred March 22.
  • The court found probable cause to charge Shelly Lynn Williams, 46, Omak, with second-degree burglary, third-degree theft and fourth-degree assault. The crimes allegedly occurred July 23.
  • The court found probable cause to charge Garry Gordon Sutton, 56, Omak, with first-degree burglary and two counts of first-degree assault (with a deadly weapon). The crimes allegedly occurred July 22.
  • The court found probable cause to charge Conchita Delphine Perez, 34, Okanogan, with three counts of tampering with a witness. The crimes allegedly occurred between Jan. 1-15.

Juvenile

  • A 15-year-old Omak girl pleaded guilty July 29 to third-degree theft. The girl was sentenced to 14 days in detention with credit for 14 days served, and fined $15.17 in restitution to Walmart. The crime occurred April 19.

Civil

  • The state Employment Securities Department assessed the following individuals for overpayment of unemployment benefits, penalties and interest: Lawrence Voss, Oroville, $155.40; Shavonna Gorr, Omak, $233.81; Karen S. Cook, Oroville, $503.25; Donald J. Ferguson Jr., Omak, $1,528.82; Carrie E. Hurley, Omak, $693.19; Douglas London, Tonasket, $3,138.73; Irwing D. Gayton, Okanogan, $612; and Annette Liebrecht, Omak, $625.19.

District Court

  • Nicholas Gilbert Andrews, 29, Okanogan, guilty of obstruction. Andrews was sentenced to 364 days in jail with 361 days suspended, and fined $583.
  • Nathan O. Beal, 30, Oroville, guilty of third-degree DWLS. Beal received a 90-day suspended sentence and fined $818.
  • Anthony Jason Bigwolf, 19, Omak, guilty of MIP/C and guilty (deferred prosecution revoked) of third-degree theft. The court dismissed an additional charge of MIP/C. Bigwolf was sentenced to 364 days in jail with 362 days suspended, and fined a total of $1,183.
  • Kristen Ann Bob, 33, Omak, had a fourth-degree assault charge dismissed.
  • Austin Blake Booker, 20, Oroville, had a charge dismissed: driver under 21 consuming alcohol or marijuana. Booker was fined $200.
  • Ricky Lewis Bronson II, 34, Oroville, guilty on two counts of third-degree DWLS. Bronson was sentenced to 90 days in jail with 88 days suspended, and fined $1,216.
  • Jason Lee Buchanan, 30, Okanogan, guilty of fourth-degree assault. Buchanan was sentenced to 364 days in jail with 363 days suspended, and fined $1,033.
  • Enrique Anthony Castillo, 23, Okanogan, guilty (deferred prosecution revoked) of third-degree malicious mischief. Castillo received a 364-day suspended sentence and fined $868.
  • Peter Lee Colomb, 64, Omak, had a second-degree DWLS charge dismissed.
  • Ernest Jason DeFoer, 35, Tonasket, guilty of third-degree assault. DeFoer was sentenced to 90 days in jail with 85 days suspended, and fined $608.
