OROVILLE – The Fourth of July is just a few weeks away and preparations are being made for this year’s Oroville Community Fireworks Show at Deep Bay Park.

Organizers say that Greg James from Topics Entertainment has generously made a donation again this year and has agreed to match donations up to a certain amount from the community and businesses. The show is put on entirely by volunteers and all donations go to the purchase of fireworks each year.

“There is potential for a really nice show this year if we can only get people to give, even if it is only a dollar or two. If we could even have people give one dollar each it would make a difference,” said Dane Forrester, who has headed up the event for over a decade.

Send donations to Oroville Community Fireworks, c/o Dane Forrester, P.O. Box 370, Oroville, WA. 98844.
