Worksource to offer job services locally

TONASKET – People looking for work will be able to access WorkSource services at the Tonasket Visitor and Business Resource Center the second Tuesday of every month, beginning September 13.

“WorkSource and the TVBRC will be partnering up to offer free one-on-one job seeker assistance to anyone in North Okanogan County looking for additional help with their job search,” said Kristi O’Neill, WorkFirst Counselor.

Services will include assistance with developing a resume or cover letter, interviewing, online job search, information on how to best connect with local employers, and advice for people new to the area on local job opportunities.

“This is great news, people won’t have to go all the way to Omak for these services,” said Tonasket Mayor Patrick Plumb, adding that the services would not only help unemployed and underemployed people, but also businesses wanting to navigate the WorkSource site.

O’Neill said Roni Holder-Diefenbach of Okanogan County Economic Alliance and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation will also be on site on select dates to share information on additional employment-related resources available in the county.

“Kristi O’Neill is a wealth of information,” said Plumb. “I solute WorkSource of Omak, it is a great program for all types of people. It gets employers the employees they need.”

Services will be offered from 1 to 5 p.m., with additional upcoming dates of October 11, November 8 and December 13.

The TVBRC is located at 215 North Whitcomb Ave in Tonasket, next to City Hal
