OROVILLE – Three Lady Hornets have been selected for Honorable Mention to this season’s 2B All-League team.

Lacy Forrester, Jessica Hutsell and Daniela Ortega from Oroville were selected for the honor in the Central Washington B League ballot.

Sierra Speiker is 2010 State B Cross Country champion

YAKIMA – Freshman Sierra Speiker, Oroville’s top cross country runner, broke course records all season long and now has earned first place in the State B Cross Country meet held in Pasco last Saturday.

Speiker led her next closest opponent, Morgan Wilson from Colfax by nearly 13 seconds to win her race. Speiker controlled the race, staying about ten meters ahead of Wilson, then accelerated up Heartbreak Hill and pulled away to win by a comfortable margin.

Oroville football defeats White Swan in State playoff game

OROVILLE – The Hornets’ 37 to seven victory over the White Swan Cougars gives them a third seed in the State playoffs and sets them up for a game against Waitsburg/Prescott Cardinals at Waitsburg High School on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m.

“The defense stepped up and played a great game,” said Hornet Coach Tam Hutchinson about the White Swan game. “Tyler Clark had his best game this year with 10 primary tackles and five assist.”
