Colville Tribes’ chairman praises legislation that will return Ancient One to his homeland

NESPELEM -The Chairman of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation praised the vote by the U.S. Senate over the weekend to send President Obama a water infrastructure bill that will return “The Ancient One” to his homeland on the Columbia Plateau for a proper and traditional burial.

Colville Tribes continue legal fight for Columbia River cleanup

NESPELEM – The Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation this week renewed its call for Teck Metals (the operator of a large smelter in Trail, British Columbia) to stop polluting and start cleaning up decades of its waste. A recent federal court ruling in the ongoing legal battle against Teck has reinforced the Colville’s resolve to hold the polluter accountable.
