Oroville tennis defeats Wilson Creek

OROVILLE – The Oroville Hornets tennis team took on Wilson creek on Tuesday, March 22 and the girls’ team won.

For the Oroville girls, Carly Hicks won her match at second singles and Janet Curiel won in third singles. Taylor Sarmiento in first singles lost her match. The second doubles team of Menze Pickering and Jennavonne Glover won their match, but Alexa Werner and Ashley Marcolin in first doubles lost due to a forfeit, according to Head Coach Kristin Sarmiento.

“For the boys, Eric Herrera was the only player and lost a very close match in a tiebreaker,” said Coach Sarmiento. “Our other games were canceled due to rain so we play Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week, all at home.”
