CTL selects first team honors

The All-League football team for the Caribou Trail League in fall 2007 has been announced with Tonasket Quarterback Sean Timmerman on the first team for offense and linemen Timmerman and Jeff Hunlock on first team for defense. Brewster Bears Coach Eddie Ashworth was named Coach of the Year.

The first offensive team includes linemen Gabe Webster (Brewster), Juan Melendrez and Ross Rumann (Cascade), Andrew Gubsch and David Parker (Cashmere) and Cody Olsen (Chelan). Running backs were Jon Betz and Dylan Emmons (Cascade), Tanner Wood (Cashmere) and Derrick Talley (Chelan). Quarterback was Sean Timmerman (Tonasket) and Derik Todd (Cashmere). Tight end was Lucas McComas (Cascade). Wide receivers were Jasen Brown (Brewster), Trevor Davis (Cashmere) and Brett Linehan (Chelan). Kicker was Herman Hernandez (Cashmere).

The second offensive team is linemen Josh Brazil and Brandon Wahl (Tonasket), Seth Davis (Cashmere), Alex Tufts (Lake Roosevelt) and Brandon Hughes (Omak). Running backs were Wade Gebbers (Brewster) and Gerardo Aramburo (Cashmere). Quarterback was Austin Benson (Brewster). Tight end was Jeff Hunlock (Tonasket). Wide receivers were Andrew Miller and Karl Schmidt (Omak). Kicker was Julio Juarez (Chelan).

Honorable mention players in offensive football are Keegan McCormick (Tonasket), Kellen Parton, Phillip Merkley, Jordan Weddle and Lucas McComas (Cascade), Zane Sandum (Chelan), Edward Wolfe (Lake Roosevelt), and Jordan Thomas (Okanogan), Matt Howe and CJ Lockwood (Omak).

Offensive player of the year was Trevor Davis (Cashmere). Eddie Ashworth (Brewster) was coach of the year and Cascade High School won for sportsmanship.

On the defensive side, the first team is linemen Sean Timmerman and Jeff Hunlock (Tonasket), Kevin Dodson (Cascade) and Andrew Gubsch (Cashmere). Linebackers were Gabe Webster (Brewster), Lucas McComas and Luke Schauer (Cascade), Christian O’Neal (Cashmere) and Jerromey Harris (Omak). Defensive backs were Wade Gebbers (Brewster), Boone Davis (Cascade), Trevor Davis (Cashmere) and Derrick Talley (Chelan). First team punter was Sean Timmerman (Tonasket).

The second defensive team was linemen Dalton Heller and Atayde Gamez (Brewster), Gerardo Aramburo (Cashmere), Clint Hernandez (Lake Roosevelt) and Nicholas Matt (Omak). Linebackers were Omar Rubio (Brewster), Josh Mason (Cashmere) and Danny Zavala (Chelan). Defensive backs were Justin Mann (Tonasket), Fialele Coffin (Cascade), Oscar Mejia and Chris Ruether (Cashmere) and Dylan Tipps (Lake Roosevelt). Second team punter was Lucas McComas (Cascade).

Honorable mention for defensive football in the CTL was Josh Brazil (Tonasket), Eli Driessen and Austin Benson (Brewster), Ross Rumann (Cascade), Cody Jones, Logan Bridge and Tanner Wood (Cashmere), Cody Olsen, Davey Anderson, Zane Sandum, Brett Lineham, Greg Shultz and Jaime Guerrero (Chelan), Brad Reeves (Lake Roosevelt), Brandon Hughes and Karl Schmidt (Omak) and Jordan Thomas (Okanogan).

Defense player of the year was Gabe Webster (Brewster).
