Published 8:12 am Sunday, September 16, 2012

Voting extends through Wednesday night

TONASKET – Tonasket High School will be taking on Lakeside and Potlatch (Idaho) this week.

Tom’s Tailgate, a contest put on by KREM 2 (Spokane) weather forecaster Tom Sherry, gives Tonasket a chance to host the weatherman’s forecast at a tailgate party prior to the Okanogan at Tonasket football game Friday, Sept. 21.

Sherry will head either to Tonasket or Plummer, Idaho, depending on which game —  Tonasket-Okanogan or Lakeside-Potlatch –garners more votes. Sherry will broadcast his weather from the game site at 5:00 and 6:00 p.m., as well as presenting the winning schools with a check for $222.

Game highlights will also be shown during KREM2’s 11:00 p.m. High School Gametime show that night.

Voting started Friday night, Sept. 14, on the Tom’s Tailgate page on KREM2’s site and ends at 11:00 p.m. Wednesday.
