Thelma G. Blackmore, age 68, of Oroville died on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009 at her home in Oroville.
She was born on Feb. 9, 1941 in Montrose, Colo. to parents Roy and Etta Grey. Thelma was raised and attended school in Silverton, Colo. She worked as a waitress in Colorado and Washington with her last job working for Bob and Margaret Hirst at Fao’s in Oroville. In her spare time Thelma enjoyed sewing and going fishing.
She is survived by her husband, George at home in Oroville; four daughters: Melody Smith of Oroville, Georgia Lanius of Omak, Andrea White of Denham Springs, LA. and Christina Blount of Zachary, LA.; one son, George E. Blackmore of Bellingham, Wash.; five sisters: Wilma Biugle of Durango, Colo., Virginia Hotchkiss of Tillamook, Ore., Helen Zuefelt of Emly, Nev., Barbara Linsey of Bloomfield, N.M. and Sharon Grimes of Luplutta, Colo.; two brothers: Roy Grey of Riverside, Wash. and Walley Grey of Aztec, N.M.; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Thelma was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Bible Faith Family Church, Pentecostal Church of God in Oroville with Pastor Claude Roberts, officiating. Interment followed at the Oroville Riverview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Oroville Food Bank.
