The Okanogan County Noxious Weed Control Board, along with Lakeland Restoration,  will be applying herbicides to parts of Osoyoos Lake starting Sept. 1 to help control Eurasian Milfoil infestations. In order to access shallower sections of the lake airboats will be utilized.

On Thursday, July 21, many local, county, tribal and state agencies met for the annual Fire Season Meeting. The National Weather Service kicked off the discussion by discussing the above normal precipitation which has so far helped keep fires at bay. However, they said weather trends over the next couple of weeks will likely bring fire season in full force.
