Cherished family, friend and community member Jeff Bunnell, aged 71 years, passed away at his home Monday, January 13th, 2025 at 1:35 p.m. at his home in Oroville, Washington surrounded by his family. He was born May 18th, 1953 in Ontario, Oregon.

Jeff retired to Oroville after a career of 25 years as a firefighter in Renton, Washington. He and his wife, Elia, built the Oroville Mini Storage business from the ground up and managed it for 15 years.

Jeff’s greatest sense of purpose and fulfillment came as a result of his association with and contributions to local non-profit The Oroville Initiative. Jeff was recently commemorated by the renaming of Triangle Park to Jeff Bunnell Park and was named “Citizen of the Year” by the Oroville WA Chamber of Commerce.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Elia; sons, Justin Bunnell and Casey Bunnell; sister, Janet Bunnell (Wallentine); brother, Eugene Bunnell and grandchildren Sierra, Jaxon and Matthew Bunnell. Preceding him in death are his parents, James Bunnell and Sarah Dean; brother, “Jim” and sister, “Ginny.”

Jeff was a beloved resident in the community and will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

A Celebration of Life was scheduled for January 15th at 6:30 p.m. at the Free Methodist Church in Oroville.
