Encourage all to attend school concerts

Dear Editor,
What a beautiful show Mr. Stiles, the Middle School and High School students performed last week.
I was surprised to find that the bleachers were sparsely occupied. This was my first time coming to see the students perform. It was impressive! The students and Mr. Stiles had put a lot of effort into the program!
I would like to encourage everyone to attend future performances whether or not they have a student participating in a band. It was a joy to see our young talented musicians perform. I am looking forward to attending future programs.

Gary DeVon is the managing editor of the Okanogan Valley Gazette-Tribune and celebrated his 25th year at the newspaper in August 2012. He graduated from Gonzaga University with a degree in Communications - Print Journalism, with an emphasis in photojournalism. He is a proud alumnus of Oroville High School. His family first settled in Okanogan County in the late 1800s. His parents are Judy DeVon and the late Larry DeVon and he has two younger brothers - Dante and Michael. Many family members still call Oroville home. He has a grown daughter, Segornae Douglas and a young granddaughter, Erin.
