Cascade thwarts Tonasket volleyball

TONASKET – Tonasket’s volleyball team overcame a slow start to challenge Cascade in the middle set of Saturday’s Caribou Trail League volleyball match but were ultimately swept by the league co-leaders, 25-4, 25-18, 25-8.

“(We) weren’t awake or ready to play the first game,” said Tonaskett coach Jackie Gliddon. “We came alive in the second game to challenge Cascade, falling short in the end. In the third game Tonaske tjust couldn’t get out of serve receive.”

Amber Monroe led the Tigers (2-12, 0-12 CTL) with five kills and 4-of-6 serving. Sadie Long added two kills, with Ahlia Young, Devan Utt and Rachael Sawyer adding one each.

Cascade improved to 11-1 in league play to keep pace with Chelan.
