OROVILLE – Oroville’s volleyball team was swept in its final home game of the season Thursday, Oct. 20, 25-17, 25-19, 25-18 by Waterville.

Oroville (0-15, 0-11 CWL North Division) has yet to win a match this season, but have proven to be far more competitive than a year ago. The Hornets, who won just three sets in 14 matches in 2010, have tripled that total in 2011, including taking two opponents to a fifth set in best-of-five matches.

One of those matches was Sept. 29 at home against Bridgeport, which edged the Hornets 18-25, 25-23, 17-25, 25-21, 15-13.

The Hornets close out their season Tuesday, Oct. 25, against that same Bridgeport squad.
