Oroville's Speiker sets record at Lake Roosevelt Invite

COULEE DAM – The Hornet Cross Country team competed in the Lake Roosevelt Invitational Cross Country meet on Saturday, Oct. 10 and Sierra Speiker set a new course record.

Speiker won the middle school girls’ race setting a new course record of 8:21 in the 1.4 mile race. Oroville’s lone middle school boy, Colton Iverson, placed ninth in his race with a time of 10:26.

Callie Barker finished in 24th with a time of 25:18 in the 2.8 mile varsity girls’ race.

In the varsity boys’ race Connor Hughes led the Oroville runners, placing 34th running the 2.8 miles in 19:07.

The remainder of the Oroville contingent was: in 40th Michael Garrett, 21:41; 41st Ronel Kee, 21:53; 44th Connor Thompson, 24:26 and 46th Eric Herrera, 25:53.
